چکیده

I T HAS been reported previously that following xenotransplantation. liver secretes proteins of donor origin into the serum of xenograft recipients. thus allowing them to retain their species-specificity. I The persistence and the function of hamster xenoproteins in long-surviving hamster --> rat liver transplant recipients has already been well established. ~ In the present study, we have extended this concept further by evaluating the possible immunogenicity o f donor (hamster) serum proteins . To this end. we have attempted to ( I) characterize the hamster serum proteins that elicit an antigenic response in the rat and (2) identify do nor proteins in th e recipient serum that share common epitopes with those on the cell surface of the vascular endothelium. which are the primary targets of antibodymediated rejection of vascularized xenografts.

Expression and Purification of Neurotoxin-Associated Protein HA-33/A from Clostridium botulinum and Evaluation of Its Antigenicity

Background: Botulinum neurotoxin (BoNT) complexes consist of neurotoxin and neurotoxin-associated proteins. Hemagglutinin-33 (HA-33) is a member of BoNT type A (BoNT/A) complex. Considering the protective role of HA-33 in preservation of BoNT/A in gastrointestinal harsh conditions and also its adjuvant role, recombinant production of this protein is favorable. Thus in this study, HA-33 was expr...

Characterization of Milk Proteins in Ultrafiltration Permeate and Their Rejection Coefficients

The most widespread method applied for standardization of milk protein in cheese production isultrafiltration. In the current study, pasteurized, unhomogenized whole milk was ultrafiltered with APVultrafiltration system, 51 spiral wound, polysulfone membrane with 20000 Da molecular weight cut off (DDS,Nakskov, Denmark) at 50 ˚C, such that the pressure difference between the two sides of membran...

Complement-mediated vasoconstriction and graft rejection.

The hyperacute rejection of renal allografts has much in common with pigto-dog renal xenograft rejections. An analysis of the xenograft model revealed new functional aspects of graft rejection that appear to be an integral part of the humoral immune injury. Anaphylatoxin or C5a, a cleavage product of the fifth complement component was shown to play a major role in the rejection of isolated kidn...

Complement-fixing elicited antibodies are a major component in the pathogenesis of xenograft rejection.

Hamster to rat cardiac xenografts undergo delayed rejection as compared with the hyperacute rejection of discordant xenografts. Elicited xenoreactive Abs (EXA) are thought to initiate hamster to rat cardiac xenograft rejection. In this study, we demonstrate that following transplantation of a hamster heart, rats generated high levels of EXA. Adoptive transfer into naive recipients of purified I...

تخلیص بتالاکتوگلوبولین از شیر گاو و مطالعه آنتی ژنیسیته آن

Beta-lactoglobulin (BLG) is a major whey protein in the milk of ruminants,    e.g. cows, and such non-ruminants as horses. This protein is resistant under    various conditions of pH and temperature. There is some evidence of    absorption of some intact BLG in humans. Infants being fed with cow’...
